From Winter to Summer.....From Lush fields to Desert Plains.....back to school.....and back to the team.....my life has once again taken an 180 degree turn.

Leaving behind the family, the coastal waters of Nelson and the green green glass I found myself after 27hours of traveling, back in Reno. Nothing seemed too different. I was back to my room at the Balkenbush's, back to my little Burnt orange 2000 Ford Focus and back to my life as a Division One athlete. The excitement of discovering a new life and meeting lots of new people wasn't the forefront of my thinking this time.....but the hope for the future, the unknown success the next 10 months might bring.

Leaving New Zealand wasn't without its doubts this time. I had an amazing Summer errr.....Winter break at home. Hanging out with the family, working at Uncle Richards
Big Tree Nursery, back training with the team  and just loving Home. I really enjoyed getting to know people at Annesbrook Church and taking a 10 day family holiday around the South Island. Along with these and getting an injury, Patella Tendinitis, at the end of June I was doubting whether to come back here. Life at home just seems so relaxed and simple....Haha especially just living at home with Mum and Dad.

With that the first few days here in Reno with the heat, the many team meetings I had to attend and watching all the girls on the team coming back from the summer really fit I was getting quite bummed.....Haha Yep I was bumming. I couldn't sleep, didn't want to train and American's were just driving me up the wall.

School has now started, my knee is nearly healed and I have a renewed peace about why I am here. God was in the original planning of my move to America.....then why would he have abandoned me? Things haven't really worked out the way I would have hoped, but every day there is a new 24 hours to make the most of what I have been given. And to enjoy the adventure I am on.

I love my life here......and Yes right now Reno really is my home (haha as much as my family doesn't like to hear that).
